Simon Lever is delighted to announce the well-deserved promotions of Jennifer Shutter, Laura Longacre, and Taura Thompson to the position of Partner, effective January 1, 2025. These advancements are a result of their passionate commitments to responsibility, integrity, service, and their unyielding pursuit of excellence.

Jennifer Shutter, CPA, embarked on her journey with Simon Lever right after college. She has developed expertise in pass-through entity taxation, multi-state taxation, and advisory services across more than 15 years with the firm, becoming known for her thorough tax research and creative solutions. Jenny brings her expertise to our tax and advisory services by collaborating with team members as well as strategizing with clients to maximize their success. She loves traveling, especially to beach destinations, and enjoys reading and volunteering alongside her husband and daughter in her spare time.
Laura Longacre, CPA, demands the best of herself to support her clients and her team members. Leveraging close to 20 years of experience, she focuses on small businesses, particularly family-owned businesses. Her upbringing on a dairy farm brings a unique perspective to our agribusiness team, and with a knack for bringing people together, she excels in identifying solutions that provide a financial edge for clients. She merges her leadership and financial expertise to drive our growing outsourced accounting and bookkeeping service team, partnering with clients to provide full-service support and helping to advance their businesses. Outside of work, Laura enjoys supporting her three children’s sports activities and playing pickleball with her husband.
Taura Thompson, PHR, CPC, with over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, has served in various roles, including talent strategies, leadership development, and company culture enhancement. As a member of our Executive Leadership Team, she aligns our talent strategy to support the firm’s strategic vision and is known for her ability to identify and develop individual strengths, ensuring team members can utilize their unique talents. She is passionate about creating a people-first environment where team members feel engaged and can thrive. Taura spends her free time with her husband, two sons, and two chocolate Labradors, enjoying travel, hiking, golf, and sports.
