OUR STORY

Simon Lever, Trusted Lancaster County
Accountants & Advisors

Our firm was founded in 1951, when the average cost of a new home was $9,000 and the average annual salary was $3,510.

Simon and Johanna Lever bought a franchise called Mail Me Monday from the Accounting Corporation of America. The Levers’ office was in the Conestoga Bank Building on South Queen Street in Lancaster, PA.

Each Monday, clients mailed their accounting records in a postage-paid envelope to Simon Lever and Company. After analyzing the records, the company mailed them to a computer service in Boston, where duplicate general ledgers and financial statements were made and then returned to Simon Lever and Company.

Within two years, Simon’s former colleague Bernard Greenberg, CPA, joined the company as an associate to form Lever and Greenberg, Accountants and Auditors. The pair was later joined by Pat Druck and Sam Smith. In 1965, Simon earned his CPA designation.

Our CPA and advisory firm continued to grow, becoming more than just Lancaster County accountants. With our recent expansion into the Capital Region, we are now one firm in two locations.
