LANCASTER, PA – Simon Lever LLP, one of Central Pennsylvania’s premiere business advisory and accounting firms, announced this week they would be undergoing a change in a key leadership position, effective Jan. 1, 2016.

The move, which has been in the works for the last year and a half, will see current managing partner Marlin Benedict moving to the role of Senior Executive Partner. The managing partner position will be handed over to one of the firm’s current partners, Jason McDougall.

Benedict, who has held the managing partner position for more than 27 years and has spent over 40 years in the industry, said he is thrilled to be moving into a position that will allow him to work more exclusively and directly with clients. He also said he has great confidence in McDougall’s abilities and leadership.

“I am excited about the impact to our company’s future with Jason’s skills, energy, and fresh perspective,” Marlin said. “Jason’s commitment to excellence, our clients, and associates will propel our company forward in the years to come. I am enthused and energized to participate in and observe our achievements in the coming years under Jason’s leadership.”

Since joining Simon Lever LLP in 2004, McDougall has held a variety of positions and taken on numerous responsibilities. In so doing, he has extensive experience in serving clients directly in the areas of consulting, accounting, auditing, and tax preparation. McDougall said he expects the leadership transition into his new role to be seamless.

“Under Marlin’s leadership, our company has built a great reputation for delivering value and creativity as trusted advisors to our clients,” McDougall said. “With that as our foundation, we will continue to provide top quality services that focus on maximizing the success of our clients.”

According to Benedict and McDougall, the change in leadership will serve as a catalyst to enhance the firm’s client services and focus.
